The Noble Obligation of Leadership

The Noble Obligation of Leadership

The Noble Obligation of Leadership
Read the Bible from cover to cover; you'll never find where God called someone to an easy task.

If you are currently feeling that your leadership assignment is more than you can bear, I want to encourage you--Hang in there!

John Ortgbertg once said, “If you read the Bible from cover to cover, you will never find where God called someone to an easy task.”  Regardless of your religious beliefs, John is right.  Leadership is not easy.  Leadership is an obligation.

The following are just some of the things those in leadership are obligated to do:

  1. Take Risks
  2. Sacrifice
  3. Receive Criticism
  4. Display Great Courage
  5. Do Tremendous Preparation
  6. Be Responsible for the Welfare of Others
  7. Make Hard Choices
  8. Go First
  9. Experience Loneliness
  10. Make Mistakes

Leadership, however, is a noble calling which does the following:

  1. Leadership is the composite picture of our preferred destination.
  2. Leadership equips us with the skills and mobilizes us to achieve that future.
  3. Leadership builds teams.
  4. Leadership inspires us.
  5. Leadership gives us opportunity.
  6. Leadership protects us.
  7. Leadership makes us feel we can accomplish things we previously could not have imagined.
  8. Leadership finds solutions and solves problems.
  9. Leadership sends us forth to a time we cannot see.  Leadership leaves a legacy.
  10. Leadership changes the world.

For this type of leadership, we are grateful.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your leadership responsibilities, if you think the grass is greener on the other side, if you feel like no one cares, if you think that it just isn’t worth it anymore, if you feel like quitting, please stop and reconsider.

We are deeply grateful for your faithfulness to your leadership obligations.  You need to be reminded that you are making a difference.  Thank you for leading.

The 23rd Psalm

A Sunday school teacher asked her class if anyone could quote the entire 23rd Psalm.

A golden-haired, four-and-a-half-year-old girl was among those who raised their hands.

A bit skeptical, the teacher asked if she could really quote the entire psalm.

The little girl came to the front of the room, faced the class, made a perky little bow, and said,

"The Lord is my shepherd, that's all I want."

She bowed again and went and sat down.

That may well be the greatest interpretation of the 23rd Psalm ever heard.

March on #aug31st.com

No updates.

OMG it's only 2nd week of March but felt like it has been past many months of 2011.

Zero updates on wedding planning as we have been occupied with work and filtering some personal issues. I promise I will be back to planning after next week when things are get sorted better (coveting your prayers thank you). Having a good mentor is so crucial as it either breaks or makes our future. :)

Looking for a weekend with afternoon nap. I think I need a good massage and facial. I should just get a day off to sleep through it. NYAHAHA. u wish.

Alright, I shall end this post with 3 favourite fotos of my past 2 memorable weekends

1) Eitan on Jin's bean bag
2) Asked Thea to smile and pose with the balloon
3) Some sisters ministry time with Thea (and jill ;p) - we love shoes.

Geeky Me - SMART APP!

Tuxpi

I was sending an email out today at work and to be honest, I am so impressed by the intelligence & excellence that Google puts into their apps. A great example of small good feature that make a BIG difference. Well, at least, I am impressed. Kudos to Google's design principle #10. ;)
